Carlinville High School’s baseball program held its year-end banquet May 28 at the fellowship hall of Ss. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church.

Varsity coach Logan Ridenour and junior varsity coach Jesse White addressed the gathering of players and parents, primarily focusing on the varsity squad’s postseason run in which it went 3-1 with extra inning victories over both Vandalia and Greenville.

The Cavaliers defeated Litchfield to advance to a regional final and then got past Greenville 3-2 to win their first regional since 2004.

Junior varsity finished the season 11-4.The varsity team finished the 2013 campaign with an overall record of 9-18.
