Arden F. Clemonds Sr, 92
GILLESPIE (Dec. 6, 2017) – Arden F. Clemonds Sr., 92, of Gillespie passed away at 10:05 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 28, 1925, in Graniteville, Mo., to John and Grace (Carty) Clemonds. He married Ellen (Kelly) Clemonds on July 6, 1946, in Maryland Heights, Mo.; she survives.
Mr. Clemonds was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a bricklayer for Clemonds Brothers in Gillespie and a member of the Union Bricklayers Local #1.
In addition to his wife, surviving are his children, Linda (Roger) Nesch of Springfield, Sharon Clemonds of Wilsonville and Bruce Clemonds of Gillespie; grandchildren, Roger (Jeanne) Nesch Jr., Jeffrey (Mindy) Nesch, Steve (Shannon) Clemonds, Russell (Lisa) Reynolds and Nicole (fiancé Kevin Gooble) Reynolds; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Arden Clemonds Jr. and John Joseph Clemonds; brothers, John Clemonds, Kenny Clemonds and Jim Clemonds; and sisters, Loretta Pilgram and Erma Throgmorton.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 7, at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 8, at the funeral home, with Rev. Dennis Hill officiating. Burial will be at Gillespie Cemetery.
