HSHS St. Francis Hospital’s Chief Nursing Officer, John Peipert, RN, BSN, MM, CENP, has been appointed to serve as interim president and CEO of the hospital beginning Monday, June 5.
Peipert has more than 29 years of experience. He received his diploma in nursing from St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing, a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Webster University and a master of management from Fontbonne University, all in St. Louis, Mo. He also is certified in executive nursing practice (CENP) from the American Organization of Nurse Executives. He served as the director of the emergency department and cardiovascular services at St. Anthony’s Health Center in Alton from 2012-15 and began his position as chief nursing officer at St. Francis Hospital in January 2015.
“Working in a hospital is a team sport,” said Peipert. “No one person is more important than another. We all have a role to play here. Our goal has to be as one, to provide the best outcomes and best patient experience possible. HSHS St. Francis Hospital is a great place to work and a great place to come for health care services. I am proud to work with a very dedicated group of individuals who put patient care as their number one priority.”
“While the search for a new president and CEO is ongoing, we are very pleased that John has accepted this interim leadership role at the hospital,” said E.J. Kuiper, president and CEO of the HSHS Central Illinois Division. “He will continue in this interim position until a permanent president and CEO is selected for St. Francis.”
